Don J. Allman passed away peacefully August 5, 2011 at home with his family after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Don was born in Springville June 7, 1942 to Arthur Curtis Allman and Elsie Lillian McCurdy Allman. He lived his life in Springville. He married Suellen Kay on September 4, 1970. Together they raised four daughters, Michele Snow (Troy) of American Fork, Suzette Kimball of Orem, Amy Lynne Sorensen (Kendell) of Orem, and Becky Kump (Shane) of West Jordan.
He retired from Geneva Steel after 23 years and spent his remaining career appraising homes and selling real estate. Don enjoyed long walks in the desert and experiencing nature with his brother and sons-in-law. He loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time boating, hunting, hiking, fishing, and walking. He had a lifelong love of reading and an appreciation for art.
Don is survived by his wife and daughters, his two brothers Roe Allman (Kathy) and Monte Allman (Mary Lou), both of Mapleton. He has 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, son-in-law Steven Kimball, and great-grandson Glenn Bitton.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 11:00am at the Kolob LDS Stake Center, 1230 South 500 East, Springville, Utah. There will be no public viewings. Burial in Provo City Cemetery.
