Our beloved son and brother Dennis Lee Peterson, age 57, of Springville passed away surrounded by family on April 22, 2015. He was born October 27, 1957 in Payson, Utah to his loving parents, Richard L. Peterson and Kay Harding Peterson.
Dennis was smart, kind, big-hearted, and had a good sense of humor. Calling Kentucky his home for many years, Dennis remained a passionate fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. He was also a life-long fan of the Green Bay Packers. After learning to play golf as a child, Dennis became an accomplished golfer. An avid reader, he loved the works of Tom Clancy. Dennis served 10 years in the United States Air Force, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant, and was a veteran of the Gulf War. He continued to work for the federal government as a medical technologist for the U.S. Department of Justice/Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Veteran Affairs hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dennis was a devoted son and caring uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Dennis is survived by his parents Richard L. Peterson and Kay Harding Peterson of Springville. He is also survived by his sister Denise (Shaun) McKinnon of Spanish Fork, his brother Brent (Linda) Peterson of Eagle Mountain; former wife Denise York of Kentucky; 5 nieces and 4 nephews.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah. Friends and family may attend a viewing on Monday evening, April 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah.
