David Von Reeves

March 2, 1962 — January 10, 2008

David Von Reeves, 45 passed away Thursday January 10, 2008 at the U of U Hospital after a

courageous battle with Heart Failure. Dave was born March 2, 1962 in Provo Utah to

Gordon Reeves and Coleen Duffield Hamby. David grew up in Springville, Utah and graduated from Springville High School. During his high school years he excelled in drama and the arts and played on the High School Golf Team. He also loved to coach baseball and referee basketball.



He attended the U of U and graduated from the Phoenix Institute of Technology in Phoenix AZ, with a degree in drafting. While in Phoenix he worked for an engineering and architectural firm. He was also very active in theatre and musical performances and performed in many local playhouses. Acting and music was his passion. He married Lynn Boyd. They were later divorced. He moved back to Utah and went to work for FFKR Architecture and Design in Salt Lake City where he worked on many large projects for over 13 years. FFKR was very generous and supportive of Dave thru his illness.



David's character was one of honesty and integrity. He was a man of his word. His sense of humor and upbeat attitude will be missed by his family and friends. Dave was a movie buff. He loved to dance and made many great friends while volunteering for the Pioneer Theatre Company, Utah Symphony and the Metropolitan Opera Company.



Dave is survived by his parents, Gordon Reeves & Coleen & Dick Hamby; brothers: Cory (Wendy) Spencer and Branden Spencer; his step-brothers and sisters: Sam (John) Gunderson, Greg Cassingham, Clint (Merci) Hamby, Matty (Jeff) McKenzie, Audrae Ellen (Sam) Edwards; his step-Mom Judy (Lamon) Spencer and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and his special friend Patty. Dave was preceded in death by his step-Father Lamon Spencer who raised him.



Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the Santaquin Stake Center, 545 N 200 E Santaquin, UT. Viewing with family at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville, will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. or Monday 1 hour prior to the services in Santaquin. Burial will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the U of U Heart Transplant program in Dave's name.
