David Glenn Larson, 78, of Springville, Utah, passed away peacefully on Nov. 30, 2008 following an extended illness. David was born in Pocatello, Idaho July 10, 1930 to David Nels Larson and Nettie Loretta Forge.
He graduated from McCammon High School and attended Idaho State University while working summers for the Union Pacific Railroad. He then served his country in the United States Air Force with posts in Texas, Alabama, Idaho and Saudi Arabia.
While stationed in Alabama he met his eternal companion, Annie Rigsby. They were married on June 1, 1951 in Montgomery, Ala. and later sealed for eternity in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Idaho Falls temple. For 57 years Annie loved him as wife, friend, and devoted caregiver. She will miss him until they are reunited.
After discharge from the Air Force David returned to the Union Pacific Railroad where he worked as a Carman and earned his Railroad retirement. He spent the next 50 years in insurance. David enjoyed insurance because he could support his family while helping others to prosper. He excelled and received much recognition from his employers, peers, the industry, and most of all from his clients.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully throughout his life in numerous callings.
David is survived by Annie, their children, David R. Larson (Patti), Scottsdale, AZ. and Glenda Stout (Ron), Layton, UT, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. David celebrated his children and grandchildren. He is their quiet champion and strength.
David is also survived by two sisters, Joyce McNeilly, Boise, ID, Thelma Trout, Ogden, UT and one brother, Niel M. Larson (Elaine), Pingree, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ruby Larsen. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to 1st Choice Hospice and members of the Spring Creek Fifth Ward for the loving care and kindness they have shown during Dave's illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday Dec. 6 at the Spring Creek Fifth Ward chapel at 860 E. 200 N. Springville. A viewing will be held from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at the same location. Graveside services and internment will be at the Norton Cemetery in McCammon Idaho at 3:00 p.m.
