David Hillstead passed away on March 27, 2016 in Springville, Utah. He was born June 3, 1972 the first child of Randy L. and Lana Pendleton Hillstead. He has one sister, Julie Hillstead Taylor and one Brother, Alan Pendleton Hillstead. He grew up in Lyman, Wyoming where he learned to love the outdoors. David graduated from Lyman High School where he participated in football, basketball, and track.
He served for two years in the Birmingham England mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He attended Southern Utah State University where he competed on the track team. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS degree in History. While attending SUU, he met and married Kara Atwood in the St. George Temple.
He completed a PHD in Family Therapy from Brigham Young University. He worked as a therapist for young adults where he helped hundreds of young people. He is the father of four Sons, Michael Randy, Kadyn Atwood, Traeton Leo, and McCae David Hillstead. He loved his family. He was greatly loved and will be missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 950 S 1700 E, Springville, UT. Visitations will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville and Friday, one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Historic Springville City Cemetery.
