David R. Gill, passed away at his home in Springville, on August 14, 2010. He was born in Springville on May 2, 1930 to Owen and Bessie Diamond Morgan Gill. He married Connie Swensen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 15, 1950.
David loved his family, worked hard and never expected praise for his dedicated service. His proudest achievements include serving Provo City for 28 years as a Lieutenant in the Fire Department and touching many lives through building homes and furniture with his construction business. David enjoyed watching and playing basketball, football and golf. He especially enjoyed escaping to his Fairview cabin. David graduated from Provo High School, attended Trade Tech (UVU) and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He served faithfully in various calling for the LDS church, worked in the Provo Temple Baptistery for 13 years and completed a service mission with his wife at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. The family thanks the staff of Central Utah Medical Clinic. Good-bye Dad and enjoy your next mission. We know we'll see you again.
David is survived by his beloved spouse of 59 years, Connie Swensen Gill; 4 children: Richard E. Gill, Provo, Jeri A. (Richard) Levin, Provo, Denise (Stephen) Gibb, Orem, and David E. Gill, Provo; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; brother, Monte E. Morgan and dog, Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Mary Ann.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Spring Creek South Stake Center, 350 N 400 E, Springville, UT. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville or Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the East Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
