Darryl Carl Brailsford

Darryl Carl Brailsford, 78, of Spanish Fork, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022.  He was born July 12, 1944, in Provo, Utah to Junior McPhail Brailsford and Elda Vern Platt.  He married Carma B. Ivie September 16, 1965, in Provo, Utah.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti temple September 13, 1991.

Darryl served in the United States Navy.  He completed training in radio and electronic technology in July 1964 and was stationed in Agana, Guam.  He served as a radio operator on the USS St. Paul.

He attended Provo High School and later received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Utah Valley Community College.  Darryl was an industrial electrician and worked for Geneva Steel and later for Electrical Workers Union of Nevada in Las Vegas.

He had a great love of cars, motorcycles, boats, guns and planes and obtained his private pilot’s license in June 1981.  He was a temple ordinance worker in the Las Vegas LDS Temple. He loved his family, especially is grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Carma Ivie Brailsford, sister Terra Madsen (Jim); daughter Chelene Pedersen (Jeff); Kassidy Earnshaw (Dallas); Cody Darryl Brailsford (Miyabi) and Johnny Edwards Sundance Brailsford (Brenda); 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and his cat Max.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Marni Lynn and brother Ron Brailsford.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held Friday, October 21, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Mona City Cemetery, 700 East Cemetery Lane, Mona, Utah 84645.
