1934 ~ 2014
Darlene Price North passed away peacefully surrounded by her family September 1, 2014. She was born in Center Creek, Utah on November 16, 1934 to James William and Levenia Gibson Price. Raised on a farm in Center Creek she learned to work hard at an early age. She met the love of her life Calvin M. North her senior year at Wasatch High School. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple June 16, 1953 after graduation. They lived in Heber for several years and then they moved to Springville, Utah where they raised their 4 children. Darlene was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved sports and spent countless hours watching her children and grandchildren play ball. She was their biggest fan never missing a game, a dance or music recital, or any of their other events. Darlene was an avid seamstress making countless quilts and pillowcases for family and friends. She worked at Barbizon and Central Utah Clinic in the billing department. She served in many callings in the church. She especially loved the time she spent in young women. She and Cal moved to St. George in 1994 to retire. Together they enjoyed camping at their cabins in the Uintahs and Star Valley, playing games, traveling, and especially the time they spent with family and friends. Darlene had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tease. Everyone she met soon became a close friend because of her kind heart and compassion. One of the highlights of her life was serving a mission with Cal at the Family History Center in St. George. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters Nellie North, Glenna Wilson, and her brother Jack Price. She is survived by her children; William (Teri), Michael (Michelle), John (Mary), Kalene Velardi (Ron); 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; her sister Rita Wilson, sister-in-law Lois Price, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Myrna Kowallis. The family would especially like to thank everyone at the Victorian House in Levan, Utah and the Lake Ridge Senior Living Center in Orem for the kind and loving care they gave our mother. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wheeler Mortuary 211 East 200 South in Springville, Utah.
