Daniel Boone Evans

Daniel Boone Evans, 78, of Springville, Utah died July 29, 2020 of heart failure.  Married Mary “Jo” Gongaware May 27, 1967 in the Idaho Falls Temple.  Son of Dean E. Evans and Camilla M. Olsen Evans, born October 3, 1941 in Pocatello, Idaho.

Dan taught math at Springville High School for 32 years and was an excellent teacher.  He loved his students.  He served as a bishop and in many other callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He loved studying military history.  He was a quiet man, but was a friend to everyone.

He is survived by his wife Jo, Kristi (Keith) Anderson of Springville, Utah; Kevin (Heidi) Evans of Ridgecrest, California and Byron D. Evans of Springville; 7 biologic grandchildren, plus two unofficially adopted granddaughters and one great-grandson.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville at 10:00 a.m.  We ask that those in attendance wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
