Our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grand mother, Connie Swensen Gill returned to her heavenly home suddenly on January 8, 2016 at home in Springville, Utah.
Connie was born November 2, 1932 to Earl and Millie Swensen in Lago, Idaho. Connie and her brother, Harold, had a nomadic childhood that finally settled in Provo in her teens where she met her eternal love, David Ray Gill. They were married November 15, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. While Dave served in the Korean War, Connie worked and saved to buy land on which Dave could build a house, which still stands on Provo’s East Bench. They raised their children in that house filling it with love before moving to Springville in 1997.
As an expert gardener and seamstress, Connie had a passion for making a home wrapping every member of her family in a lovingly made afghan. Connie was an avid bowler for 50+ years on several leagues with her family members as her favorite teammates. As a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, she served in numerous callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, spending endless hours in service of family, friends, neighbors, and anyone in need.
Connie was the matriarch of our family and relished her role. She loved every family member endlessly with all of her heart and wanted only the best for each of us. She constantly praised and glorified us in everything that we chose to do.
She is survived by four of her children: Richard Gill, Jeri (Richard) Levin, David Gill of Provo, and Denise (Stephen) Gibb of Orem; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Harold Swensen of Provo. She is preceded in death by a daughter, MaryAnn, her husband, David, and her parents.
