Collette Palfreyman Binks

December 20, 1934 — February 19, 2025

Mapleton

Collette Palfreyman Binks passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, surrounded by family. Collette was born December 20, 1934 to Loeen and Bert Palfreyman. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Glade Binks, on July 28, 1953 in the Manti, Utah temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They had five children together.

Collette had a vibrant love for life and people. She was loved by everyone for her sass, sense of humor and kindness. She spent her time with her many friends and family golfing, bowling, skiing, hiking and traveling. Collette was born, raised and lived her entire adult life in Springville, Utah. She loved that town and her home, especially her rose bushes. Springville was heaven on earth to her.

Collette loved to learn and had a curious mind. She was always reading books, especially ones about history. She also loved attending plays, concerts and movies with her friends and family. She was the biggest cheerleader to her kids and grandchildren and loved attending their many games, activities and recitals. To know Collette was to feel loved, supported and seen.

Collette loved her Savior and had a deep and abiding testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She and Glade served a church mission together in Oakland, California. She missed her home and life in Utah during this time, but she was eager to serve the Lord and the people of Oakland. She blessed the lives of everyone who crossed her path.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glade, her parents and siblings, her son-in-law Dale Oakey and her granddaughter Danielle Oakey. She is survived by her 5 children: Christine Oakey, Debra Ann Gordon (Keith), Sandra Lee Ostler (Shane), Michael Glade Binks, and Jennifer Reid (Jonathan); 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
