Clyde Ray Condie

October 26, 1937 — December 8, 2023

Provo, UT

Our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at Utah Valley Medical Center, surrounded by his family, on the morning of December 8, 2023, in Provo, Utah.

Dad was born October 26, 1937, in Auburn, Wyoming to Vernon Clegg Condie and Marguerite Sears Condie.  He was the youngest of two sons. He attended school in his younger years in Cowley, Wyoming. Later his family moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where he graduated from Central High School. It was here that he met the love of his life, Jean Dalene, and they embarked on what would be a lifelong love story of 66 years.  They were married in 1955 and, later, their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Utah, California, Arizona but most of their married life was spent in Wyoming. They enjoyed many trips together to Disneyland, visiting their children and attending his beloved BYU Cougar football games.  But his most cherished time was spent surrounded by his grandchildren.  Together they have six children, 28 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.

Clyde spent most of his life teaching history and science, retiring from Uinta County School District No.1.  He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as an ordinance worker at the Ogden Temple, where he met many friends.

Clyde is survived by his sisters in law, Judy Williams and Afton Condie; son Mike (Kris) Condie; daughters Cathie George, Carole (Lance) Johnson; son Brad (Cathy) Condie; and daughters Christi (Eddie) Buskirk and Caryn (Jeff) Piper.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jean D. Condie; his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law; his brother, Earl S. Condie; sister-in-law Joann D. Dauma and son-in-law Donald R. George.

Dad will be remembered for his strong devotion to our mom, his gentle discipline of his children, his sense of humor, relentless teasing of grandchildren and his laugh.  We will all see a bench at the mall and be reminded of him, he spent many hours supporting our mom’s hobby of shopping.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023, at the Spring Creek 5th Ward, located at 860 East 200 North in Springville, Utah where a viewing will be held the same morning, from 9:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah.

Condolences for the family may be expressed on this page.
