Our precious mother Clara Darlene (Ewell, Jenkins) Marshall, age 93, passed away peacefully in the early afternoon of February 7, 2023 surrounded by loved ones in Springville, Utah. Darlene (as she was known) was born on June 3, 1929 to William Marion Ewell and Clara Burgi Ewell in Mammoth, Utah. Later, she was married to Clinton Chester Jenkins in the Salt Lake Temple on November 8, 1948.  During her marriage she gave birth to six magnificent children (one daughter and five sons). After being widowed in 1978, she was remarried to Craig George Marshall on February 8, 1985 in Springville, Utah.

Darlene had many hobbies and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Many of her loved ones enjoyed the comfort of her beautiful quilts. Her hands were rarely still as she was always sewing, knitting or just working hard. When her children were at home, they loved her homemade bread fresh from the oven,  Darlene passed on to her family her love of nature.  To her, there was nothing better than a ride up Hobble Creek Canyon with a family member. For years she went on daily walks and swam at the community pool.  Other hobbies she enjoyed included dancing, flower gardening (especially her roses), sports and canning. After her children were gone from home, she loved working as a maintenance supervisor at the Missionary Training Center in Provo. As an active member of her faith, she served as a visiting teacher, Relief Society President, Primary teacher, Librarian, and Compassionate Service Leader.  Also, she enjoyed being an educational volunteer. What she loved most was being surrounded by her family and loved ones. We all felt her love.

Darlene is survived by five children and a daughter-in-law:  Christine Francis of Spanish Fork, Utah; Ronilynn Jenkins (Doug’s wife) of Provo, Utah; Brian Jenkins of Orem, Utah; Lynn Jenkins (Pamela) of Sundance, Utah; Bruce Jenkins (Shari) of Santa Clara, Utah; and Donald Jenkins (Bita) of Columbia, Maryland.  She also had 14 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands: Clinton Jenkins and Craig Marshall; her son Doug Jenkins;; and her grandchildren: Chad Jenkins and Aly Jenkins.

Please join us in celebrating her life February 18, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Springville LDS church located at 245 S. 600 E., Springville, UT.  Before the funeral service there will be two viewings:  one will be at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 E. 200 S, Springville from 7-9 pm on February 17, 2023, and the other will be at the church before her funeral service from 9:30-10:30 am on February 18.   She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Springville.
