Surrounded by family, Christopher Lamont Chappell, age 20, passed away Sunday July 16, 2017. He was born December 13, 1996. Elizabeth Anne Chappell, age 19, passed away Friday July 14, 2017. She was born June 21, 1998. James William Chappell, age 15, passed away Saturday July 15, 2017. He was born October 20, 2001. Christopher, Elizabeth, and James were born to Lester and Celeste Chappell of Springville. Each had for many years courageously fought a degenerative neurological condition, Juvenile Batten Disease.
Christopher, Elizabeth, and James were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. All attended public schools in Palatine, IL prior to moving to Springville in 2014 where they attended Oakridge school from 2014-2017.
Chris had interests in cars, trains, boats, and anything his older brothers were doing. He looked forward to one day serving as a missionary like his older brothers had done. Elizabeth as a child enjoyed dolls, princesses, and outdoor activities. James as a child loved sports of any kind, particularly baseball. Each loved their family and extended family. They all loved the Savior.
Christopher, Elizabeth, and James are survived by their parents: Lester and Celeste Chappell of Springville. Their siblings: Jeffrey (Jessica) of Provo, Matthew (Niu) of Provo, Larissa, Jennifer, Samuel, Emma, and Sarah. Their grandparents: Dick and Myrna Chappell and Peggy Sue Kerlin of Springville, and Jack Kerlin of Vancouver, WA.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Hobble Creek Stake Center located at 495 S Canyon Rd in Springville with a viewing at 11:30 am. Interment, Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
A Memorial Service will be held in their honor in Arlington Heights, IL Sunday July 30 at 6 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 2035 N Windsor Dr, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Batten Disease Research and Support Association at www.bdsra.org or to the general missionary fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
