Christian Sandy Carter

Christian Sandy Carter of Springville, passed away peacefully September 19, 2010. He was born March 22, 1946 in Salt Lake City, UT to Elwood Berlin and Malinda Ella Newell Carter. He was the youngest of 4 brothers and 2 sisters.



Sandy was raised on a ranch in Tabiona, Utah. He loved working with and riding the horses they raised and taking care of the other farm animals. He loved hunting. He graduated from Tabiona High school in 1964, and was in the top ten of his class. He served an LDS mission to the northwestern states from 1965-'67. He also served in the US army from 1968-70. He also attended Utah Technical College.



He married his soul mate, Brenda Braithwaite in the Salt Lake Temple on June 25, 1970. They had three sons and three daughters. He was an active member of the LDS church, where he served in various positions. He was also a temple ordinance worker until his health began to decline.



He is survived by his wife Brenda (Springville), his children Tonya Smith, Springville; Michael C. (Janet) Carter, St. George; Eldon S. (Amber) Carter, St. George; Heidi (Anthony) Puleo, West Jordon; Chrisenda Carter, Payson; and 13 grandchildren, and two brothers Newell(Amber), Salt Lake; and Vern Carter(Tabiona). He is preceded in death by his son Jared B. Carter, his parents, a brother, and two sisters.



Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 24, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Spring Creek 4th Ward Chapel, 350 North 400 East, Springville, Utah. Friends and family may call for a viewing from 12:30 - 2 p.m. prior to the services.
