Cheryl Cole-Williams

Cheryl Cole-Williams, wife of Donald L. Williams and mother of Laurie Lyn Paskett-Bacon, Katherine Joan Persinger (Kit); Jennifer Ruth Thomas and Mary Anne Paskett (Julie Jorgensen) and step-mother to Billy W. Williams (Ruth) and Angie M. Williams passed peacefully in her sleep after battling several months of health issues on July 29, 2015.

Cheryl was born and raised in Provo, Utah.  She graduated from Provo High School and worked for the Red Cross while traveling to and from Europe and throughout the United States.  She attended UTC and graduated from Weber State University as a Registered Nurse.  She retired from Utah Valley Regional Medical Center as a Charge Nurse in the Operating Room.  During her time at UVRMC, she started working on the individual floors and transitioned to the Heart Team where she became the “right hand man” to the two main cardiologists.  She then was promoted to Charge Nurse of room 2.  She retired after 25 years of helping and caring for those she knew and loved as well as for those she had never met, but was equally grateful for.  More importantly, she made and loved many friends who became “The Hospital Family” for her and her immediate family.

Cheryl had a passion for sewing.  At any given time, one could find a project she was working on to give either a family member or a friend.  She enjoyed biking.  No matter where she was and regardless of how many accidents, she loved to bike.  She also enjoyed camping in the Uintas and at Skyline Drive with her husband, running and going for long walks around town.  Additionally, she had an appetite for games with her family and friends, usually betting with match sticks.  Aggravation, Black Jack, Clue, Hand and Foot, Scrabble, Skip-Bo, Spoons and Trivial Pursuit were among her favorites.  These games were bound to last for hours with much bantering, debating and laughter, included.  Whether in the afternoon after work, in the evening or on the weekends, one could always count on a game of some sort in progress at Mom’s house, usually listening to “Jeopardy” or “The Golden Girls” or if you were lucky, you would hear Tina Turner or El Divo blaring in the background.  She and her husband enjoyed gospel music and listening to various operas.

Cheryl attended services at Grace Bible Church in Springville, Utah, where she enjoyed hearing the teachings of the Bible along with meeting new friends whom became her extended family and where she celebrated her 70th birthday last October.

She is survived by her husband Donald L. Williams and children:  Laurie Lyn Paskett-Bacon, Katherine Joan Persinger (Kit), Jennifer Ruth Thomas and Mary Anne Paskett (Julie Jorgensen), step-children Billy W. Williams (Ruth) and Angie M. Williams and twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Frank “Lefty” Cole and sisters, Sondra Pistone and Jolene Howell.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Wheeler Mortuary on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. (211 East 200 South, Springville).  There will be a potluck picnic held shortly thereafter at the Spring Creek Park (555 East 600 North, Springville) from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Please bring something delicious to share along with your many memories.

Spring Creek Park Directions:  Drive to 400 East, turn east on 600 North, heading east.  The road will loop around to take you to the pavilion, which will be on the left side.
