Charlotte Louise Hartman

Charlotte Louise Hartman, 94, of Springville, Utah, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024. Charlotte was born March 16, 1930 in Highland County, Virginia, to Lillian Propst. She married John Hartman May 10, 1947. Their marriage was solemnized in the Oakland California temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 16, 1974. John preceded her in death on May 12, 2012.

Charlotte spent countless hours sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, embroidering, doing ceramics, and oil painting. Her hands were always busy. She loved gardening and tending her house plants. She collected spoons, bells, and dolls. She set an example of reading books, and she had fierce Scrabble skills. Charlotte was an excellent homemaker and hostess and took joy in feeding people. She had a vivacious and outgoing personality that made her easy to love, and she had a gift for making friends. She enjoyed serving others in her community and especially in her church.

Charlotte is survived by her four daughters: Gloria (Roy) Smilanick of Clovis, California, Vicky Hartman of Springville, Cindy (Howard) Bodily of Queen Creek, Arizona, and Karri Hartman (Springville); 16 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren, and 9 great, great grandchildren; and sister Cathy Alt of Greenville, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband John, sister Ruth Nesselrodt, and brother Bobby Eye.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, at 1:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 235 E 550 N, Springville, with a viewing from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the service.  Interment will follow at the Springville City Cemetery.
