Charlotte Lee Edwards

Charlotte Caroline Lee Edwards, age 85, passed away on July 30, 2008 due to complications of old age. She was born on February 13, 1923 in Oakland, California to Henry Daniel Lee and Lorraine Frances Howard.



She resided for over 80 years in California and moved to Utah in 2004 to enjoy the company of her children and grandchildren. Charlotte lived her early years in the

California bay area and had many wonderful experiences as a young adult traveling to the east and working in Idaho. She loved her work as a food service manager for the public schools in Ridgecrest, California.



She married Damon B. Edwards on May 23, 1942, who remained the love of her life until his passing in 2004. After becoming members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple in 1957. They became parents to eight children who they loved and served with great joy and happiness.



Charlotte was a valiant member of the LDS religion and responded faithfully to the many callings extended to her by the Lord. She loved visiting with her many friends and family almost as much as she loved her chocolate. She was a gospel pioneer and an elect lady as she was the only one of her family to embrace the restored gospel and endure to the end. She will be missed by her family and friends but we rejoice with her for living a long and productive life as a wife and mother.



She is survived by six daughters and one son: Lottie Hart of Hanford, CA; Gwen (Blaine) Wickham of Spanaway, WA; Penny (Rick) Weiss of Pleasant Grove, UT; Barry (Rolayne) Edwards of Highland, UT; Sandy (Steve) Richards of Springville, UT; Val Averett son-in-law, North Salt Lake, UT; Melodie (Steve) Perkins of Renton, WA; Gaye (Steve) Hilliard of Springville, UT; her 36 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Damon B. Edwards Jr, a daughter Candy Averett, a son-in-law Gene Hart and a great-grandson Maxwell Richards.



A viewing will be held at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South Springville, UT on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the LDS Chapel at 1965 East Canyon Rd. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral services. Interment will be at the Highland City Cemetery.
