Charles Don Thorn, born August 5, 1943, died March 3, 2014; son of J. Roe and Lydia Thalman Thorn. He started and finished his life living at 391 East 800 South, Springville, Utah in the home built by his great grandfather O. B. Huntington.
"You get up in the morning and kick the ball, and when you feel you can't kick it anymore, you do it anyway."
This oft stated motto and his propensity to act led him to success in the leasing industry for over twenty-five years and through his twenty-eight year battle with Parkinson's disease.
His legacy is carried on through his wife, Joanne Thorn, and children, Angela Randolph (Daniel), Mathew Thorn (Vikki), Justin Thorn (Kathy), Ben Thorn, Trent Thorn (Christi), Lydia Taylor (Nate), Corinne Jensen (Jeff), and Clint Thorn (Marissa), twenty-seven grandchildren, and the families of his siblings - Roger Thorn, Maris Grotegut, Ray Thorn and Chris Thorn.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 840 S 400 E, Springville, UT. Viewings will be held on Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville and Saturday, 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
