The best Christmas present ever given to his parents, Robert and Marlene Nelson: Chandler Warren Nelson, born on December 24, 1968. Chandler was called home to his Father in Heaven on March 10, 2012 due to an accident.
Chandler attended Brookside Elementary School, Springville Middle School, graduated from Springville High School and earned an Associate's Degree from UVU in Construction Management.
Chandler was a hard worker and goal oriented: at age 8, Chandler created his first lawn mowing business, where he had 40+ clients. In his youth, he was active in the boy scouts, baseball, football, and served on the Springville Youth City Council. He learned to ski very young and enjoyed family trips to Sundance. Chandler's favorite memories from his childhood were hunting and fishing at the family cabin.
Chandler served in the New York, Rochester mission where he touched the lives of so many who still regard him with love and respect. He served as the Elder's Quorum President. He served to make life better for so many and inspired others around him to seek out the less fortunate.. Chandler also worked with the youth in his area. He took them under his wings and taught them how to be responsible.
Chandler has worked on so many projects for big companies in Springville: Stouffers and BMA. They loved his work and respected him for his integrity. Everything Chandler did was done to perfection. Chandler was owner and president of both a successful trucking company, "Nelson Logistics" and a successful excavation company, "NROCK". He loved his trucks and the way the wind whistled when he cruised down the highways. Chandler had a big heart and employed those in need of a job, sometimes giving more than he had.
Chandler loved anything that could fly: Apollo rockets, space shuttles, jets (especially F-16 fighter jets), airplanes and helicopters. For his 40th birthday, Chandler took his first helicopter flying lesson. He loved it so much and was such a natural that he received enough flying hours for his solo license. Chandler was also very talented with his hands and loved making things out of wood and making his yard look beautiful. He loved learning new things and watching Modern Marvels and the History Channel. He was just learning how to train his horse like his grandpa Mog. Chandler loved animals. He saved as many as he could. Someday he wanted to have a sanctuary for animals where people trying to recover from drugs could come work. His pets were his children. He loved his dogs Mucho, Buffy, Champ, Foxy and his cats Fuzzy and Lost, and his Arabian horse, Prince.
The best thing he ever did was marry his soulmate, Jamie Thomas, on September 1, 2007. They were sealed on September 2, 2008 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were never blessed with children, but he loved Jamie's and his nieces and nephews. He would fire off rockets for them, fly airplanes or helicopters with them, let them sit in his CAT equipment or helicopter and teach them science. Chandler and Jamie did everything together; swimming with dolphins in the Caribbean, riding the Ferris wheel on the Santa Monica Pier in California, ocean fishing in Oregon, riding the roller coaster in Las Vegas, hiking to the "Arch" in Moab and simple things like taking the dogs on walks and watching movies together.
Chandler was a loving husband and son and a loyal and thoughtful friend. He will be missed dearly by the loved ones he proceeds: his wife, Jamie Nelson, his parents, Marlene and Robert Nelson, his siblings, Stuart Nelson, Merritt Fullmer, Mitch Nelson, Bryton Nelson, his grandmother, Theora Nelson and many nieces and nephews. Chandler was met on the other side by many who love him: His grandparents, Mog and Rhea J. Warren, Uncle Calvin and Aunt Patsy Warren Thorpe, Uncle Kent Warren, Uncle Nolan Nelson and cousins Linda Thorpe and Craig Thorpe. He will also be met by many of Jamie's family including her dad, Patrick James Thomas and her brother, Scott Jefferson Wininger.
