Cathy Smith Weight, age 47 of Springville, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009. She was born October 11, 1961 in American Fork, Utah to Marvin Everett and Joyce Carter Smith. She married Danny Weight August 12, 1983 in Draper, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.
Cathy was raised and attended schools in Pleasant Grove. She enjoyed gardening, doing genealogy and family history work, and her dog. She was a member of the LDS Church and served faithfully as a visiting teacher. Cathy was a loving wife and mother and everyone who knew her loved her.
She is survived by her husband of Springville; one son and one daughter: Jesse Weight and Melissa Weight of Springville; her parents of Pleasant Grove; and four brothers: Harold Smith of South Jordan, Jay Smith of San Jose, CA, Robert Smith of Clinton, IA, and Danny Smith of Pleasant Grove.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Hobble Creek Stake Center at 495 S. Canyon Road in Springville. There will be a viewing held Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville at Monday at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
