1937 ~ 2013
Cathlene Annie Carter Caras, 76, of Benjamin, Utah, peacefully left the cares of this world on April 14, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones on both sides of the veil.
She was born February 24, 1937 to Reuben Eldridge Carter and Marinda Annie Menlove in Spring Lake, Utah. She married the man of her dreams, Col. Franklin A. Caras, on November 28, 1958 in Henderson, Nevada and began their life together in the United States Air Force. She became a part of a new family that she dearly loved. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple on January 4, 1978. They were blessed with four children as they were transferred around the country, knowing they were doing their duty to God and Country. Her life was given to serving others, following the example of her Savior. She served in numerous capacities in the community, and in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a ward and stake relief society president, and most importantly, as a devoted visiting teacher.
She is survived by her children: Anna Marie and David White; Tony and Lori Caras; Cathy and Kelly Finnegan; and Christopher and Marie Caras; along with 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and was 'Mom' or 'Grandma' to countless others. Siblings: Fonnie Carter, William Carter (Jeanine); Verna Taylor (Andrew, deceased); Iona Spainhower (Merrin, deceased); Mac Carter (Michal), Curtis Carter (Geri). Preceded in death by her parents; her husband and his parents, Angel and Mary Caras. Siblings: Grove Carter; Dan Carter; Oliver and Rowene Knapp. She also leaves behind her beloved Caras brothers and sisters.
