Lavern Sanford Larsen, 90, of Springville, passed away on June 22, 2011, of natural causes. She was born in Springville, Utah, on March 8, 1921, to Frank J and Flossie Sanford. She graduated from Springville High School in 1939 and attended Utah State University. She married Max Larsen in the Salt Lake Temple on March 2, 1942. As a member of the LDS Church, she served in various callings. She was also active for over 40 years in the Cultural Arts Club in Springville and for many years with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Max, and her son, Brent. Lavern is survived by her sons; Leon (Carolyn), Hal (JoAnn), Dennis (Rose), and Wayne (Wendy) Larsen, daughter-in-law Suzan Bell, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Ruth Brinton and Ina (Dean) Bird, and brother Glen Sanford.
We extend our thanks to Lavern's many friends and neighbors who looked after her in recent years and to the many caregivers during recent months, especially Canterbury Assisted Living in Springville.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 28, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kolob 7th Ward church located at 840 South 400 East, Springville. Friends may call Monday, June 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South, Springville, and at the church, Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville.
