Carolyn Marie Christoffersen April 10, 1940 – April 9, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carolyn Marie Christoffersen (née Pace), a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, in Provo, Utah, just one day shy of her 85th birthday. Carolyn and her family first moved to Green River, Wyoming in 1968 and then to Cheyenne in 1985 where she resided for nearly 20 years before retiring to St. George, Utah.
Carolyn was born on April 10, 1940, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to May Eloise and Presley David Pace. She was the cherished sister of one brother and one sister, both of whom predeceased her. Carolyn's family and faith were the center of her life, as she was a proud and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She took great pride in her family’s heritage within the church, and her strong faith was the foundation upon which she built a life of love, patience, and service.
In 1957, Carolyn married her life-long love, Ray Christoffersen, and together they spent 63 wonderful years raising a large and loving family. Carolyn and Ray were inseparable partners in both life and faith until his passing in 2020. Her greatest joy was her children, and she often expressed how proud she was of her 10 children, 32 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren. She found immense joy in her family’s growth and accomplishments, and she treasured the time spent with each of them.
Carolyn’s legacy will forever be defined by her kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to her family. Though she was known for her strong faith, her playful spirit and sharp wit made her a joy to be around. Her children often joked that even if they were in trouble, if they could make her laugh, their misstep would be forgiven in an instant.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray, her daughter Rebecca Christoffersen, and her two siblings. She is survived by 9 children: Susan Thomson (Will), Laurie Fitt (Richard), Judy Eldredge, Martin Christoffersen (DeÁnne), Jonathan Christoffersen, Jean Pierce (Wes), D. Andrew Christoffersen (Debbie), Scott Christoffersen, and Michael Christoffersen (Heather). She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 2 so-so grandchildren.
Carolyn’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. However, her legacy of faith, family, and service will live on through her children and generations to come. A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held in Springville, Utah, where we will gather to honor the remarkable woman she was and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.
The family of Carolyn want to extend a heartfelt and special thanks to Sam and all the staff at BeeHive Homes of Provo for the care and love they provided to Mom.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the church at 235 East 550 North in Springville. There will be a viewing held at the same church from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the funeral services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
Condolences for the family may be expressed on this page.
