Carole Marie Cummings Haymond, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2017, surrounded by family in American Fork, UT. She was born November 22, 1935 in Belmont, MA, the second of two children born to Roy Charles and Ethel Mary Raines Cummings.
Carole married Phillip M. Haymond in January 1960 in Las Vegas, NV. They lived in Seattle, WA, Huntsville, AL, San Jose, CA, and Bangkok, Thailand before settling in Dale City, VA where they raised their eight children, living there for 33 years.
While raising their children, she pursued a nursing degree and worked as an LPN for over 20 years, a profession which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was an avid genealogist and loved serving in the temple. She spent her life in the service of others and emulated Christ-like love. Her greatest service was to her family; she loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She taught her children correct principles and loved them unconditionally. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Carole Haymond is preceded in death by her former husband, Phillip M. Haymond; She is survived by her brother: Roy Charles Cummings, Jr; her eight children: Peter (Dusadee), Bangkok, Thailand; Alan (Pam), Albany, NY; Andy (Colleen), Gridley, CA; Elizabeth Allen (Spencer), Spanish Fork, UT; Ruel (Tresa), Cedar Hills, UT; Martha Dobler (Andreas), Ontario, CA; Rebekah McKnight (Gary), Springfield, VA; and Esther Gozo (Alban), Bountiful, UT; her twenty-four grandchildren: Faye, Hazel, Baxter, Brianna, Ian, Brody, Michael, Maycee, McKay, Layna, Ammon, Samuel, Daniel, Grace, Mariah, Joseph, Erika, Johanna, Katrina, Andrea, Trey, Kyle, Elijah, and Zavier; and her three great-grandchildren: Peter, Clark and Tilessa.
Memorial services will be held at the LDS Chapel, 353 East 400 N. in Spanish Fork on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00am. Guests are invited to greet family members from 9:30am-10:30am. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
