Carol Ann Burningham Walker

March 28, 1965 — August 30, 2011

Carol Ann Burningham Walker passed away August 30, 2011 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She grew up in Springville and graduated from Springville High School in 1983 and was active in student government. She earned a degree in Elementary Education from BYU in 1987. After graduation she met and married Don Walker of Othello, Washington in the Salt Lake Temple July 11, 1987. She taught school at Grant Elementary School in Springville, Parkview Elementary in Payson, and Larsen Elementary in Spanish Fork. She was a Reading Specialist at several schools in Spanish Fork. At the time of her death she was a facilitator at Riverview Elementary in Spanish Fork.



Carol is known for her witty sense of humor, her dedication to education, and love of family and friends. She enjoyed cruises, camping at Yellowstone Park, a good book, and a good laugh.



She was generous with her time and loved to serve others. She will be greatly missed.

Carol is survived by her husband, Don Walker, her daughter, Micquelle Curtis (Kyle), son Mitchell, currently serving an LDS mission in Richmond, Virginia, a sister, Jan Chappell (Robert) in The Woodlands, Texas.



Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 5th at 11:00a.m. at the Hidden Cove meeting house at 2379 E. River Bottom Road in Springville. Viewings will take place on Sunday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville and Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church, prior to the services. Burial will be Tuesday, September 6, at 10 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
