Carl Stephen Guthrie Sr.

Carl Stephen Guthrie Sr, our devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather received his eternal reward on April 1, 2015. He was limited in his abilities the last year, but before that time you could find him in his garage pedaling his proud 5,000 plus miles on his stationary bike.

Carl was a dedicated Mormon who served the Lord in many positions. Carl proudly served the United States Air Force flying B29’s as 2nd lieutenant navigator. Carl worked his way up the corporate ladder as a dedicated, hardworking employee for 43 years for AT&T phone service; retiring in 1984 in an Executive position at company headquarters in Washington D.C.

He is survived by his lovely wife Phyllis (Moubray) Guthrie and two sons Carl S. Guthrie Jr. and William James Guthrie deceased, his sister Wilma Honaker and granddaughters Sandi (Mike), Carla (Jared), Tammy (Devin), Shawna (Ben), Keri Mendive and was blessed to have felt the love of 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Papa, thank you for your Legacy of Love, support and dedication to your family.

Public Viewing will be held in Springville, Utah at Wheeler Mortuary on Friday, April 3rd at 2:00 pm. and a committal service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston, West Virginia.
