Bruce Ray Nilsson passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the age of 91.
He was born on May 4, 1923 in Raymond Alberta Canada to Arthur C. Nilsson and Rhoda Irene Ransom. He spent most of his life in American Fork, Utah where he attended school and graduated from American Fork High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII from 1942-1945 and spent 26 years in the Naval Reserve retiring in 1968. We are
grateful for his service protecting our nation and freedom. Bruce was able to go on the Utah Honor Flight with his son Darrin this past September to see the nation's capitol and memorials there. This was a great honor for him.
Bruce served a faithful mission in 1950 teaching the people of Uruguay the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He loved telling us stories about his service there and blessed the lives of many. Bruce attended BYU and earned a bachelor's degree in t3enera1 "Education and Marketing then later in Special Education. He spent much of his life teaching school educating others. He loved to learn and study about many things. He had a beautiful tenor voice and loved to sing duets with his mother. He also had a great talent in dancing and at one time taught ballroom dancing.
In the summer of 1960 Bruce attended a dance at BYU where he met his wife, Beverly Jean Finch. They were sealed for time and all eternity on November 23, 1960 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years. His children include: infant daughter RaeJean (deceased), Cory (Kirstin), Darrin (Kimber), Wade (Jeanine), and Steve Dameron (Suzzette). Bruce loved his 9 grandchildren, Travis (Stephanie), Spencer, Joshua (serving in the Nagoya, Japan mission), Tyler, Rylee, Noah, Hannah, Olivia and Emma Nilsson. We love you and will rejoice the day we meet again!

Ward Chapel at 672 North 250 West in Springville on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. There will be a viewing held at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the American Fork Cemetery.
