D. Brian Pouncil lost his battle with life to a heart attack on September 8, 2009. He was born January 10, 1959 in Independence, Kansas to David and Maggie J. Pouncil, who preceded him in death. He was the second of nine children in his family. He is now with his sweetheart and angel Juli. They were married on June 12, 1987 in Provo and later sealed in the Provo Temple. She preceded him in death in August of 2002. Brian was very proud of being a Kansas police officer and a deputy constable when he moved to Utah County. He loved the world of law enforcement. He was known to carry his scanner everywhere.
He is survived by 2 sons: Travis of Independence, KS and David of Tulsa, OK; 2 stepchildren: Mathew Kinseth of San Diego, CA and Michelle Done of Orem, UT; 4 grandchildren; 3 brothers: Don Pouncil, Anthony Pouncil and Davano Pouncil; 5 sisters: Alice Daniels, Veronica Danquah, D'Andrea Collins, D'londra Pouncil and Verdonna Pouncil. Brian is also survived by Juli's family whom he loved as his own.
Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and techs who have cared for Brian, especially over these last few months. Thank you also to the DaVita Dialysis Center's staff for the love and care they have shown Brian over the years.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Springville West Stake Center at 996 W. Center Street in Springville. There will be a viewing held Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville and at the church on Monday one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
