Brian Clark Bate

d. January 16, 2013

1964 ~ 2013

Our much loved Son, Father, Brother, Uncle and friend, Brian Clark Bate, passed away peacefully at his home of a massive heart attack on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.

Brian was born to Lee J and Mary J. Bate on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1964 in Spanish Fork, Utah.

Brian attended Springville Schools and graduated from Springville High School in 1982. He was active in Student Government, Football and Concert Choir. Brian was blessed with a beautiful tenor singing voice and was the soloist for many School, Church and Civic activities. His voice brought much enjoyment and comfort to many people over the years.

Brian was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served an LDS Mission to Bangkok, Thailand 1983-85. After his mission, he attended BYU for a short time and then returned to Thailand, where he sang professionally for R.S Sound. He loved the Thai people and he spoke and sang the language flawlessly. He was invited to sing for the King of Thailand while on a singing tour of the country.

Brian married Cherie Carpenter on August 1, 1986 in the Jordan River Temple. This union brought to them, two amazing sons, Landon Bate and Tyler Bate. Brian had great love and admiration for his two sons and he was so proud and had high respect for the wonderful young men they have become. Brian and Cherie were later divorced.

Brian also loved his little English Bulldog, Roxy. The two of them were almost inseparable these past few years.

Brian struggled for many years with a chronic kidney condition, which caused him much pain and suffering. Thank you Heavenly Father, for opening your arms and taking him home so gently, where we know he is now free from pain.

Brian was predeceased by his grandparents, Lee H and Grace Bate and Roy and Marie Johnson, all of Springville.

Brian is survived by his parents, Lee and Mary Bate (Springville); his two sons, Landon Brian Bate (Provo), Tyler Brian Bate (Serving an LDS Mission in Argentina); his brothers, Dave Bate (Jeannie), Springville, and Bud Bate, (Kelly), Spanish Fork, and his sister, Maralee Jensen (Rich), of Spanish Fork. He is also survived by his 13 nieces and nephews, Diana, Leslie, Mike, Steve, Jen, Zac, Josh, Jessica, Samantha, Breanna, AmberLee, McKenna and Savanna.
