Blaine LeGrande Barker of Springville, age 86, died in the comfort of his home on June 19, 2014. He was born in Delta, Utah. LeGrande and Mary Lou Doane were married for 65 years and were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

He is the proud father of six children, grandfather of 25 and great grandfather of many more. LeGrande is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and instilled in his children a love of the Savior and His gospel.

In younger years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping with his family and sharing with his children stories of boyhood. His chosen career was in sales, working for Ducketts Furniture in Provo and Skaggs and Osco in Utah and other states. He and Mary Lou have been longtime residents of Springville, where they enjoy association with many friends and much family. He has a love for people and a happy heart. To Mary Lou he is the love of her life and will continue to be so. He is beloved of his children and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Eva Jane Barker; his brothers: Howard and Ray (Shirley) Barker and his sisters: Utona Barker, Alfreda Jolley and Lucille (Bud) Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; his children: Sherrie Barker, Bonnie (Dick) Ellingson, Randall (Carol) Barker, LouAnne (Michael) Read, Terrie Barker and Michelle Lindberg and by his sister, Mary Lou (Larry) Wolfley.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Hobble Creek 4 th Ward Chapel, 1460 E 900 S, Springville, UT. Viewings will be held on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville and Monday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
