Beth Evans Peterson passed away December 13, 2012 in Springville, Utah. She was born in Menan, Idaho on October 25, 1918, to Hyrum Lester and Sarah LaPreal Harrington Evans. She married Alden A. Peterson in 1947 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple on December 9, 1955. They were together for 54 years before Alden's passing in 1999.

Beth was a lifelong resident of Springville. She graduated from Springville High School and attended Brigham Young Academy. She served in World War II as a W.A.V.E. stationed in Washington D.C., decoding messages. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many callings in the Primary and Relief Society. She was also active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers organization.

Beth loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved being with and taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Before her eyesight failed she loved to sew, make quilts, and do needlework. She was also an avid reader.

Beth is survived by her six children: Patsy Ann and Richard Teubert, Roseville, CA; Gary and Caleen Peterson, Washington Terrace, UT; Judy and Boyd Halverson, Hewit, TX; Phil and Kolleen Peterson, Brush Prarie, WA; Bob and Lorie Peterson, Provo, UT; Chris and Sherrie Peterson, Springville, UT. She had 27 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Bradford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alden; her brothers, Jerry and Wayne; and her sister, Helen Jewell.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hobble Creek West Stake Center, 555 South 600 East (Averett Avenue), Springville, Utah. Friends may call that morning from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
