Bertha Thompson Wilkinson passed away the evening of June 26, 2010 at the age of 83 after a short battle with cancer. Bertha was born on May 23, 1927 in Springville, Utah to Fern Ostler Thompson and Elton Thompson. She was the wife of Rulon Wilkinson (deceased on January 25, 1986) who she married on March 31, 1945. Although they traveled and lived in many of the western states, Bertha was most happy when she was back in Utah. She and Rulon were sealed in the Provo Temple for time and all eternity in 1985.
Bertha is survived by her children: Connie Rice of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ann Moore of Centerville, Utah, David Wilkinson and wife Elizabeth of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Danny Wilkinson of Springville, Utah and sister Lorraine Maynard of Riverton, Utah. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, who will all miss their grandma Bertha who had the fun yard they could play in when they visited her.
Bertha was blessed to be able to bring comfort to many by visiting residents at the local nursing home and offering them compassion and a listening ear. She will always be remembered as a loving, giving person who always thought of others first.
Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 with services following, both at the Springville Stake Center, 245 South 600 East in Springville, Utah. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
