Bert Charles Andersen Springville, UT, slipped quietly through the veil on Thursday June 26, 2008. He passed at home with his family at his side, following a long valiant battle with colon cancer.
He was born November 23, 1937 in Provo, Utah to Clarance LeRoy Andersen and Olive (Dolly) Simpson Andersen.
He married Lois Jean Sorensen on April 19, 1961 in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized for time and eternity in the Provo Temple on December 4, 2006.
Bert was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed. He had a talent of working with wood and was always out in his shed making something for someone in his family. His wood working items fill all of his descendents homes.
Bert was very proud to be an American and served in the United States National Guard & the United States Navy.
He worked for four years at the State Hospital as a Baker, a trade he learned in the Navy. He then worked for 35 years for first United States Steel and then Geneva Steel.
He was blessed with four wonderful children, Cindy Leftwich, Donna Jean (husband, Dave) Walter, Robert Charles Andersen and Sueann (husband, Michael) Harnden. He has eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also by eleven brothers and sisters: Pearl Brown, Horrace and Anna Andersen, Eldon Andersen, Leona and Jim Moyes, Zella Warren, Don and Sharon Andersen, Lamar Andersen, Carolyn and Larry Pace, Larue and Baldamar Miles and Gary and Beth Andersen and one brother deceased Max Andersen.
There will be a viewing on Sunday June 29th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South Springville Utah. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 30th, at the Hobble Creek West Stake, located at 555 South 600 East Springville Utah at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Springville City Cemetery.
