Baker Valdez Ogden, 87 of Salem Utah passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday October 30, 2022. He was born on June 5, 1935, to Alma Bernice Shaw and Walter Baker Ogden in Richfield, Utah. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Vonda Lee Holloway Ogden.
Val grew up in Richfield UT where he spent a lot of time with his cousins and had very fond memories of his family growing up. He graduated from Richfield High School and attended Snow Collage. He served in the Army branch of the military. After serving in the Army, he learned how to fly airplanes, which he enjoyed. Val was married to Vonda Lee Holloway on March 27, 1963, In the Manti temple. He worked at BYU and went on to own a few companies of his own before returning to BYU where he worked until he was 79 years old. Val was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He and his wife served as temple workers for a time. He was very smart and inventive also very kind and generous. He would help his neighbors whenever could. He loved watching movies and reading books. He was greatly loved and will greatly missed. His family would like to thank all the medical professionals, Meals on Wheels, and Senior Companion program that provided so much care and comfort to our Dad in his time of need.
Val is survived by his 4 children Valerie J Gardner (Earle) of Springville, UT, Stefanie A Ogden of Salem, UT, Michael J Ogden of Richfield, UT, and Melanie J Van Roosendaal (Jake) of Goshen, UT. And Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the Stake Center Chapel located at 695 S 300 W Salem Utah at 10:00am with a short viewing before starting at 9:00am. A viewing for friends and family will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 6:00pm - 8:00pm, at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South Springville, Utah. Burial will be in the Richfield Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion.
