Austin David Wright

October 19, 1989 — August 10, 2012

Austin David Wright, 22, passed away on his ship the USS Peleliu in San Diego California on August 10, 2012

Austin was born on October 19, 1989 to David B. Wright (married to Amy J Wright) and Shauna Scott Johnson (married to Mike Johnson) in Tonopah, Nevada. Austin was the oldest brother to 6 siblings, Spencer, Levi, Shayla, Kaden, Savanna, and Zachary. He attended and graduated from Payson High School in 2008 followed by his enlistment into the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate.

Austin had an innate knack for music that emerged at a young age and he taught himself to play the guitar and the piano and would often play for hours. If there was a piano or guitar in the room you could bet he would be playing it. He was a big fan of unique musical groups and could often be found not only listening but analyzing the distinctive organization of the music he loved so much. Austin also had the ability to freehand sketch, especially superhero art something his younger brothers loved and adored about him. His creativity seemed to know no end. Austin loved the movies and everything about cinema and film. His greatest dream was that he would attend film school after his enlistment into the Navy and become a film producer and director. There is no doubt that Austin's creativity, passion and genius would have made him one of the greats of the film industry.

Austin loved his family and had the wonderful gift of making everyone feel loved and was very protective and watchful over them and their well being. He was a very kind and had a gentle soul that could make you laugh. Austin was very courageous and was often the one that would blaze the path for others, even if that meant challenging higher authority regardless of the consequence.

Austin is survived by his parents, David and Amy Wright of Springville and Shauna and Mike Johnson of Lehi and former Stepfather Chris Herndon; his younger brothers; Spencer, serving in the Air Force in North Carolina, Levi, Kaden and Zachary; and his younger sisters, Shayla and Savanna. He is also survived by his grandparents Steve and Carole Richmond and Don Ray and Sharon Nelson as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
