February 29, 2012 - December 22, 2014
Our best friend Atticus John Sowards, age 2, passed peacefully Monday December 22, 2014. Atticus is survived by his parents: Rhett and Andrea; sisters: Afton and Charlotte; grandparents: John and Sandy Moore, and John and Cindy Sowards; great grandmother: Christine Grover; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cuss was all-boy and enjoyed big machines. Anything mechanical within sight caught his attention. The bigger and nosier the machine was, the better. He loved trains, dump trucks, excavators, planes, bulldozers, tractors, and garbage trucks. If you were around Cuss you were sure to hear some of his cute, and surprisingly accurate, sounds as he imagined being his favorite machines.
Little Cuss had a special bond with his family. Recently he had taken to telling his father, sisters, and most especially his mother, "You my best friend." And he meant it. He was quick to give hugs and kisses and loved to snuggle. Cuss couldn't snuggle for too long though because most of the time he needed to get back to his trucks and tractors.
Cusser is a special, loving boy who loved deeply and without reserve. Cuss' influence will continue on through his next assignments in the eternities, but also carries on in this life as well because he is an organ donor. His donations have the very real potential of saving the lives of 2 children and 1 adult. Even in his passing he continues to share his unconditional love with all those whom he comes in contact.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the LDS chapel at 1157 W. 900 S., Springville. There will be a viewing held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the LDS chapel at 1627 Cadbury Lane, Springville and a second viewing Saturday at the LDS chapel at 1157 W. 900 S., Springville from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services. His body will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery.
