Anna Pino Rawlings, age 86 of Spanish Fork, died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, October 24, 2009. She was born October 3rd 1923 to John B. Pino and Teresa Salvatore Pino in Sunnyside, Utah. She was the oldest of ten children. She moved to the Grand View Hill in Provo with her family. She graduated from Lincoln High School where she met her life long sweetheart, George William Rawlings. During World War II she worked at Geneva Steel as a secretary while waiting for her dear Bill to return from battle. They were married on January 19th 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Bill and Ann made their home in Orem where they raised their seven children.
Ann was always occupied with taking care of those around her. She was devoted to her husband and children as well as serving in many capacities in her church and community. She served as a Relief President, Primary President, visiting teacher as well as PTA President of the Orem City PTA. She was an avid gardener and loved to bottle and preserve her produce and share it with her family. She loved to bowl, participating in many leagues. She enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and hunting with her family. She loved to travel and has been all over the world including a trip to Polistana, Italy, home of her ancestors. She loved doing their genealogy. She was proud of her Italian heritage and was known for her wonderful spaghetti dinners. She was well known for her beautiful crocheting, knitting, needle point and hand tied quilts.
She is survived by her husband , Bill of Spanish Fork, sons, Rondo (Barbara) Grantsville, Chuck (Eileen) West Valley, Eddy (Natalie) Mapleton, daughters; Annette (Richard) Thomas, Springville , Rebecca Nelson (Scott), Salt Lake City, Jana (Scott) Welton, Oro Valley, AZ. Brothers, Jim (Geneil) Pino, and John (Jane) Pino. She has 22 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, 5 brothers, and her beloved son, Rex J. Rawlings.
The family would like to thank Kelsey Brough, Ann's personal CNA, for her loving care and devotion, Nancy Trapnell of Vista Care, Aspen Senior Care and her great granddaughter Alexis Ellsworth, CNA.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27th, 2009 at 1 p.m. in the Spanish Highland Ward Chapel at 1490 E. 130 N., in Spanish Fork. There will be a viewing for friends and family at the church prior to the funeral from 11:30 to 12:30. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville.
