Andrew Martin Hartley
March 14, 1913 — July 31, 2009
Andrew Martin Hartley was born March 14, 1913 in Fairview, UT and crossed from this life to the next July 31, 2009 at age 96. Grandpa was a true son of the pioneers. He believed and lived all the "old time" values, like family, honesty, hard work, self-sufficiency, and thrift. If Grandpa couldn't make something do, he would do without. Grandpa was a truly good man and a truly good-hearted man. He taught many a grandkid to fish, and handed out many an ice cream bar to friends and family, both young and old. The world and our hearts are emptier from his loss, but we know that we will be joyfully reunited again someday in the Lord.
Until that day, Grandpa will be missed by his 5 children: Paul (Sandra) Hartley, Bob (Gloria) Hartley, Shelia (Rob) Miller, Carolyn Johnson and LouAnn Reid; 15 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Alpine Hospice and Orem Nursing and Rehab for the special care they gave our Grandpa during his last days.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel on 1600 N Main, Mapleton, UT. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 82 West 400 North in Mapleton or Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Moroni City Cemetery.
