Amy Louise Blackburn Humpherys, age 98, died December 10, 2012 in Springville, Utah.
She was born July 27, 1914 in Ogden, Utah to Thomas Henry and Eliza Harriet Richins Blackburn. She married Elmo Philemon Humpherys on April 3, 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in countless callings, including Relief Society president, temple worker in the Provo Temple, Achievement Days leader (at the age of 92), and ward organist for 83 years. She also served a mission with her husband in the Washington, D.C. Mission from 1984 to 1986.
Amy loved being a wife and homemaker. She was fondly known as "Mema" by all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Her genuine smile brought joy to everyone. She lovingly served others throughout her life.
Amy is survived by the three children she raised: daughter, Karen Olson (Roger) of Springville; son, Glenn Humpherys (Christine) of Idaho Falls; and granddaughter, Melissa Anderson (Howard) of South Jordan. She had 25 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren (with four more on the way), and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo P. Humpherys, seven siblings, and one grandson, George Albert Humpherys.
Funeral will be Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hobble Creek West 5th Ward Chapel, 1440 E. 900 S. in Springville, Utah. Friends may call at the same location earlier that day from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
