Aaron Williams

Aaron "Buss" Williams, 93, Mapleton, Utah. Buss was born in Provo, Utah to Hugh Welch Williams and Ingrid Peterson Williams on July 24, 1917. He passed away on September 24, 2010 in Orem Utah of natural causes.



After the death of his mother and the flu epidemic he was raised by his grandparents, Charley and Louisa Williams, aunts and uncles; Art and LaRue Williams and Florence and Joe Martin. He graduated from Provo High school. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a high priest. During his youth he worked for Dessert Land and Livestock and in construction.



He married Velma Madsen on September 18, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. She passed away in 1983. He married Maxine Allen Bell in 1984. She passed way in January 1988. Then he married Phyllis Allen Hone in November 1988. They spent 22 happy years together.



"Buss" spent the early years of his marriage in Provo area. He worked as a heavy equipment operator, welder, and helped build Geneva Steel. He entered the Navy in 1945 and served until the end of the war. At the conclusion of the war he went back to work for Geneva Steel and worked as a crane operator until his retirement in September 1978. The family moved to Mapleton in 1953 and remained there until his death. Buss's greatest love was the outdoors. He was an avid horseman, sportsman and expert fly fisherman. He was the happiest when he had a fly rod in his hand and the sun at his back.



He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; 5 children: Patricia (Wally) Bird-Kaysville, Russell (Karen) Williams-Kaysville, Richard Williams-Provo, John (Diana) Williams-Springville, Betty Skowron-Orem; Step children: Grant Hone (deceased), Glenna (Claude) Workman-Mt. Pleasant, Alan (Cle) Hone-Leland, Kaylynn (Tom) Kay-Huntington, LuAnn Hone-Providence, Blaine (Heathre) Hone-Lakeshore; 42 grandchildren, 107 great grandchildren, 44 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Velma, Maxine, and 3 grandchildren.



Funeral will be held at the Mapleton White Church located on 31 West Maple, Mapleton, Utah on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 11a.m. Viewing will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
