Barbara Ann (Madsen) Dowd

Barbara Ann Madsen Dowd passed peacefully from this life on April 8, 2017. She was born in Ogden, Utah December 29, 1936 to Clarence LeRoy Madsen and Mary Louise Taylor Madsen and was raised in Salt Lake City.

Barbara was a great woman of faith who loved her family and was a dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ. She married Donald G. Dowd June 14, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised six children in Thousand Oaks, California. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was a caregiver

for her entire adult life and loved caring for Don and Carl until the end.

Barbara served a full-time mission with Don in the California Santa Rosa Mission. They served subsequent missions together at the Moorpark Institute of Religion and the Provo Mission Training Center. Barbara served, along with Don and Carl, at both the Los Angeles and the Provo LDS Temples.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Don; children Carl, Blair (Stephanie), Brian, Pamela Carpenter (Michael), Duane (Rochelle), and Julie; nineteen grandchildren and one great grandson.

Viewings will be held on Friday, April 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 South 200 East, Springville, Utah and Saturday, April 15 from 10:00 until 10:45 followed by funeral services at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel located at 996 West Center Street, Springville, Utah.
